Is the equipment digital?

Yes Dave;

The equipment is digital and it constantly monitors the foot bath. If anything needs your attention the monitor will tell you what you need to do. It also monitors the type of water you are using so you get the same consistency of a detox no matter what the water source.

I have used this model (home foot bath) for over 5 years, personally, in a clinic and at home shows.

What is the keypad and digital read out for?

Our footbaths have a numerical keypad where you can set such things as the language you want the readout in (Spanish, French, English), the body size of the person, and any other prompts you may receive while taking a footbath. As the footbath proceeds, the keypad will also showing time left for your foot bath.

What is the difference in your foot bath units?

As to the foot bath itself the major differences are:

1. It is a complete unit when you buy the foot bath; all you need to do is add the water.
2. Replacement parts, the ionizing plates for example, are not as costly as other units, $99.00 for a set of 3 plates. That will give you 180 foot baths under normal use. Also the foot bath originally comes with 3 sets of plates.
3. We have used the Ion Spa in our clinic and health shows for 5 years with no down time. The Ion Spa is of highest quality at the best price, durable, and easy to use.
4. Because of the design of our array you only have to replace the plates and not the whole array. Also, for sanitization reasons the array is designed so that it can be thoroughly cleaned without disassembly. As you mentioned Dr. Moon, some arrays look like a coffee filer holder and are very difficult to get completely sanitized for each client's use. A definite plus in the design for your profession and client protection and even for personal use.

Does the salt water and ionizer really pull toxins from the body through the feet? Does the color change in the water really mean those areas of the body are really being detoxed? Is it really accurate?

Good Day Sandra:

I will answer each of your questions below.

Your 1st question: Does the salt water and ionizer really pull toxins from the body through feet?

Answer: The answer is yes, toxins are pulled out of the body through the feet. The salt aids in the ionization process but it is the ionization process itself that pulls out the toxins. Simply put, ionization of the hydrogen in the water becomes negatively charged and pulls at the positively charged toxins. Any toxins that are lossened up but not removed during the actual foot bath can and will be removed through our other elimination processes.

The pores of your feet are 4 times larger than any other pore on your body. Therefore, the feet act as an excellent conduit to remove the toxins from your body. The ionization of the water is what causes the reaction for the toxin removal process. The purpose of adding sea salt to the water is to increase the amperage and thereby enhance the process in the removal of toxins.

Your 2nd question: Does the color change in the water really mean those areas of the body are really being detoxed?

Answer: As we state on our page at our web site, http://www.8candlesonline.com/footbath/color-chart.html, the light brownish color change can be caused by the ionization process itself (oxidation). We have found that the color of the water can be affected by the use of regular tap water. (Ionization will react to such things as the minerals and even the city chlorination of the water.) Therefore we sometimes use distilled water in clinic and health shows. The use of distilled water allows for more consistent and reliable results. In other words, because of what cities may add to their water supplies can affect the color change of the ionized water.

We look more at the foam during a foot bath and the sediment ring left after the water is emptied out of the tub. Our staff will be happy to help answer questions as you use the foot bath.

How is the ION Spa different than the (other manufacturers name deleted for fairness)? I know there is a significant difference in price, anything else?.

1. The ionSpa was developed by an engineer, who had also purchased a unit from the same manufacturer (you mentioned) over 7 years ago. When the unit broke down the manufacturer would neither honor the warranty nor fix the unit. So the ionSpa manufacturer came to the conclusion he could manufacture his own unit that would be less expensive to operate, easier to sanitize, and cost far less to purchase with higher quality parts.
2. The IonSpa's home foot bath unique feature of coming to a client as a complete unit decreases both your time and cost of purchasing extra pieces (i.e., tub). The tub is also designed as a storage unit for the various parts that come with the foot bath. This makes cleanup and storage easier than other types of units.
3. The replacement plates are significantly less expensive. You can purchase the replacement plates in a set of 3 for only $99. When you purchase the IonSpa, you get 3 sets of plates with the unit. Under normal use you will get approximately 180 foot baths from a set of 3 plates. This fact, in and of itself, is a tremendous savings. You do not have to replace the entire array which can get very expensive.
4. Our unit comes with a 24 volt power source (and even a surge protector). You need at least 13.6 volts (some reports say 16 volts) to properly create and maintain the ionization process. I am seeing on several web sites that I go to that doctors are using similar devices as part of treatment for pain and other symptoms. I am looking at this machine for personal use and if I like the results would like to use on others as well.
